Más del 95 % de la gente con discapacidad en regiones rurales y en vías de desarrollo del mundo no recibe ninguna rehabilitación. Está en nuestras manos como los más expertos y más entrenados especialistas en rehabilitación conducir el cambio. Muchos de ustedes trabajan directamente en estas zonas. Otros trabajan en otros lugares distintos.
Me enorgullece anunciar para todos la Primera Conferencia Mundial sobre Rehabilitación Médica en Regiones Rurales y en vías deDesarrollo, del 9 al 12 de junio, en Kaiseri, Turquía. Este congreso tendrá lugar justo antes del Congreso Mundial ISPRM en Estambul, es co-patrocinada por ISPRM, el Foro de Rehabilitación Internacional, y la Universidad Erciyes. Para que esta reunión pueda tener éxito, necesito su ayuda. Por favor busque a profesionales en su hospital, en su universidad, y en su país que compartan esta pasión y avíseles de esta reunión. Anímelos a asistir y presentar sus experiencias.
Los organizdores invierten el dinero de la financiación apoyando y ayudando con los gastos de viajes a colegas que no pueden asistir. Con el gran apoyo de la Universidad Erciyes hemos sido capaces de hacer la reunión, encontrar los hoteles e incluir comidas muy económicas.
